A Belgian Tango as Gregory Wathelet & Argentina de La Marchette Triumph at Vilamoura

Vilamoura, Portugal – November 05, 2021 – A Belgian Tango! That’s exactly what happened on Friday during the fifth week of the 2021 Vilamoura Champions Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre. Gregory Wathelet (BEL) and Argentina de La Marchette pranced and danced their way to victory in the €25,650 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3*.

The speedy duo advanced to and complete the second section of the 1.45m challenge flawlessly, registering a final time of 26.62 seconds for the victory.

The magnitude of Wathelet’s triumph was even greater, since the Belgian beat one of the fastest riders in the world David Will (GER) rode Primus Vom Neumuehler Hof (Perigueux x Livello) towards silver honors in 27.21 seconds.

Francis Derwin (IRL) and AHG Whiterock Cruise Down (Cruisings Micky Finn x Touchdown) rounded out the top three with no penalties and a time 27.84 seconds.
