Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – October 31, 2021 – The Portuguese anthem was heard on Sunday, during the closing day of the Sunshine Tour‘s October Series. Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) and Jorden van de Kruishoeve rode to victory in the €26,000 Diputación de Cadiz Grand Prix CSI 2*.
A total of 70 combinations faced the 1.45m first round course with seventeen of them doing so without having any penalties attributed to them. The Portuguese renowned rider and the 12-year-old chestnut Belgian Warmblood gelding (Nabab de Reve x For Pleasure) secured the win in 31.94 seconds.
Edouard Schmitz (SUI) and Balenciana K (Balou du Rouet x Grosso) put Switzerland on the podium, registering the second-fastest clean jump-off effort after being timed in 32.17 seconds.
Julie Welles (USA) and Greatfull completed the podium with no penalties and a time of 32.31 seconds during the tiebreaker.
