Piergiorgio Bucci Claims Third Straight Grand Prix at the Vilamoura Champions Tour CSI 4*

Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – October 31, 2021 – Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) powered towards his third victory straight victory in the Grand Prix of Vilamoura on Sunday, teaming up with Cochello to overcome 39 other combinations in the €95,000 Jump-off challenge CSI 4*. to close out the fourth week of the 2021 Vilamoura Champions Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.

The Italian steered the 2009 grey Holsteiner gelding (Casall x Cartani 4), besting a field of 9 other pairs who had qualified for the decisive phase of the 1.45m contest, doing so in 40.10 seconds..

Bucci left the rest of the field in the dust, with François Mathy Jr. (BEL) and Uno de La Roque (Numero Uno x Kannan) coming the closest by matching the double clear of the eventual winners despite crossing the finish line over five seconds slower than them.

After two British wins earlier on during the week by Guy Williams (GBR), it was Nicole Pavitt (GBR) who represented the Union Jack on the podium. She rode Madagascar Dwerse Hagen (Va-Vite x Diabeau) towards third place, securing the honorable position in 45.80 seconds.
