Crusaders Battle to Win Major League Show Jumping at Otomí Club Hípico

San Miguel de Allende, MEX – October 29, 2021 – Watch out, Eye Candy! There’s a new team edging toward the top of the Major League Show Jumping leaderboard. New members of team Crusaders, Juan Carlos Garcia (ITA), Samuel Parot (CHI), and Patricio Pasquel (MEX), proved that fresh legs were the ticket to a victory in the $200,000 Major League Show Jumping Team Competition CSI 5*, presented by TV Cuatro at Otomí Residencial Hípico in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Patricio Pasquel (MEX) & Yoga Santa Rosa

In front of an electric home crowd, Patricio Pasquel (MEX) rode Yoga Santa Rosa (9-year-old Mexican-bred mare) to secure the top spot in the gold-medal jump-off after consistent rounds from Juan Carlos Garcia (ITA) and Samuel Parot (CHI). Garcia (ITA) piloted Haroon (9-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding by Zambesi x Murano), while Samuel Parot (CHI) rode Dubai (13yo KWPN gelding by Cardento 933 x Kastello).

This is the second MLSJ Team Competition win for Crusaders, which keeps them in the runner-up position in the overall standings, now just four points behind long-time leader Eye Candy.

Samuel Parot (CHI) & Dubai

Completing the podium, Blazing 7s’ Cara Raether Carey (USA), Nicolette Hirt (USA), and Rodrigo Lambre (BRA) found themselves on the podium for the first time with the silver medal. Roadrunners rounded out the top three with the bronze medal going to Kaitlin Campbell (USA), Christian Heineking (GER), and Kyle King (USA).
