Saint-Lô, France – October 22, 2021 – Wilm Vermeir (BEL) was victorious on Friday during the Jumping International de Saint-Lô at the Pôle Hippique de Saint-Lô. The Belgian rode Joyride S to claim top honors in the feature class of the day. €51,100 Prix Ville de Saint-Lô et Saint-Lô Agglo CSI 4*.
A total of 57 combinations lined up for the 1.50m challenge, with five of them advancing to the jump-off, four from the host nation. Despite being the lone foreign rider in the decisive phase, the Belgian did not feel intimated, teaming up with the 2009 bay Belgian Warmblood stallion (Toulon x Pachat II) for a penalty-free jump-off effort in 34.67 seconds for the victory.
Alexandra Paillot (FRA) and Tonio La Goutelle (Ogrion des Champs x El Paso Platiere) gave the winning duo a run for their money, finishing only thirteen-hundredths of a second behind.
Cyril Bouvard (FRA) and Broceliande du Lac (Rock’N Roll Semilly x Persan II) completed the podium, registering no penalties and a final time of 36.46 seconds.
