Marlon Zanotelli & Chili Top €25,400 Hubside Jump-Off Challenge CSI 2*

Grimaud, France – September 25, 2021 – The World n°5, Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA), brilliantly honoured Brazil in the Hubside Jumping Grimaud – Golfe de St. Tropez arena by winning two consecutive classes with each of his two greys. Firstly, with Chili in the €25,400 Hubside Jump-Off Challenge CSI 2*.

The Brazilian and Chili, the 9-year-old grey Westphalian mare (Consolidator x Berlin) were supreme against 54 other starters, a class where only 8 qualified for the jump-off. Last to enter the ring, the World n° 5 knocked 3 seconds off the previous best time, winning in 42.37 seconds.

The American champion Laura Kraut (USA) rode Haley (Quality Time TN x Manhattan) towards a second-place finish with no penalties and a jump-off time of 45.06 seconds,

France’s Laurent Guillet (FRA) claimed third place aboard Bracadabra (Pacific des Essarts x Couleur Rubin), registering no penalties with a final time of 44.06 seconds.

The course was quite technical, but still fun to ride, especially for my mare who’s still young, she learnt a lot today!” Explained Zanotelli (BRA) “The course designer did a really good course, there were only 8 of us in the jump-off, I was lucky enough to go at the end and so was able to watch everyone. There weren’t many clear rounds, only Laura Kraut (USA), so I really had everything to play for, and then, even if a bar fell, it would have just been more experience for her. Chili is very talented and I really think that in the future she’ll perform just as well at 5* level.
