Rome, Italy – September 22, 2021 – Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) has confirmed that he is leaving Stephex Stables to start a new journey on his own. After six years working for Stephan Conter‘s renowned stables in Belgian, the Italian rider is set his sights on starting his own business in the sport.
There were many wins but one of the highlights of the partnership between the outstanding Italian rider and the renowned stables from Belgium was the fact the it propelled him to become the number two ranked rider in the world back in 2017. Moreover, de Luca also managed to guide Halifax van het Kluizebos to the top of the WBFSH World Rankings. A meaningful win with the same horse was the one in €350,000 Rolex Grand Prix of Rome CSIO 5* back in 2018.
In fact, Lorenzo did not form a winning partnership at the highest level only with Halifax van het Kluizebos. Perhaps, his most successful partner ever was another horse owned by Stephex Stables, Ensor de Litrange LXII. Another amazing achievement was the fact the Italian managed six FEI wins during the 2016 Dublin Horse Show, highlighted by wins in the €200,000 FEI Nations Cup of Ireland CSIO 5* and the €200,000 Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland CSIO 5*, both aboard Ensor de Litrange XII.
