Valkenswaard, The Netherlands – August 22, 2021 – Gregory Wathelet (BEL) and Berline du Maillet Z were supreme in the €26,300 Equine America Grand Prix CSI 2* last Sunday during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard CSI 5* & 2* at the Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands.
A total of 58 combinations entered the ring to face the 1.45 obstacles on a course designed by Uliano Vezzani (ITA). The Belgian and the 10-year-old bay Zangersheide mare (Berlin x Action-Breaker) bested 14 other combinations in the jump-off, securing the victory in 35.39 seconds.
Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Cartaro (Carinue x Chacco Blue) were the closest ones, finishing second after completing their penalty-free jump-off effort in 36.16 seconds.
Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) and Miro (Diamant de Semily x Kannan) also left all the poles up for no penalties at the end of their two performances, rounding out the top three with a final time of 36.98 seconds.
