
Valence, France – August 22, 2021 – Michael Whitaker (GBR) and Parkmore Rowan put Great Britain on top of the podium last Sunday during the Hubside Jumping de Valence CSI 5* & 2*. The dynamic duo raced to first palce in the €25,400 MMA Grand Prix CSI 2* on the final day of the first week of competition at the cozy venue in France.
Riding the 2010 grey Irish Sport Horse gelding (Russel x Cruising), Whitaker managed to go clear in the first round of the 1.45m challenge, setting up for an exciting jump-off against ten other combinations. Once again the duo showed their class, posting a clean performance in 39.56 seconds for the victory.
Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) and Castleforbes Vladimir (Vivaldo van het Costersveld x Quick Star) put the host nation on the podium, backed by a penalty-free run in 39.56 seconds during the tiebreaker.
Enrique Gonzalez (MEX) and Parrandero (Clarimo x San Patrignano Cassini) were right on the heels of the latter two, rounding out the top three by being only one-tenth of a second slower than them.

“Parkmore Rowan is an Irish horse. He is eleven-years-old but he isn’t very experienced. In fact, he has only been competing for two years. I think he is a very good horse. My son Jack and I both ride him. This is my second year at the Hubside Jumping de Valence and it’s a really great show.”
