Tokyo, Japan – August 02, 2021 – It’s showtime for Showjumping in Tokyo. The countdown to the “Battle of Titans,” is almost over and the pursuit of gold and glory begins tomorrow, featuring the best riders and horses in the world. A total of 91 combinations from 35 different countries have been approved in the horse inspections and are fit to compete there.

There are two jumping competitions, one for individual honors, the other a contest amongst nations. Some riders and countries have only qualified to participate in the individual competition while others in both. Each country that has qualifed for the team competition consists of three starting combinations and one that serves as the reserve in case of an injury suffered by any team members during the individual competition. Moreover, Chefs d’Equipe are entitled to use make a last minute change before the team competition according to performance seen during the training sessions and individual contest.
