Rowan Willis & Ashton Dakota are the Aces in $213,300 Grand Prix CSI 4* at Hits Saugerties

Saugerties, New York, USA – July 24, 2021 – The first week of the HITS Saugerties Summer Series, presented by Alliant Private Client, has concluded at HITS-on-the-Hudson Valley. Exhibitors were thrilled to return to the show ring for the summer season in the Heart of the Hudson. HITS-on-the-Hudson IV featured USEF-Rated National 5* and FEI CSI4* competition including a $54,600 SmartPak Welcome, $213,300 HITS FEI Grand Prix, and a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. FEI CSI4* competition, presented by Alliant Private Client, concluded on Saturday with the exciting $213,300 Grand Prix where  Rowan Willis (AUS) and Ashton Dakota emerged victorious once again in a highlighted FEI Jumper class.  After winning the $54,600 SmartPak Welcome CSI 4*, the Australian and the 13-year-old British Sport Horse (SHBGB – Lupicor H x Corofino I) wrapped up a successful week with an incredible jump-off round  in a quick 45.25 with no faults. 

Just as in the welcome, Brian Cournane (IRL) and Armik (Armitage x Justinian Xx) were the runners-up. Once again the duo were flawless in their two performances, completing the second one in 46.31 seconds for silver honors.

Carlos Ramirez (COL) and Extra des Sequoias (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Saccor) rounded out the top three despite having one rail down for four penalty-points in the tiebreaker, securing the victory in 45.71 seconds.
