Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Kicks Off in Grand Fashion at Fieldstone Show Park

Halifax, Massachusetts, USA โ€“ June 23, 2021 – The first day of competition kicked off today with Professional and Open Divisions. Over 150 horses contested courses designed by Show Manager and Course Designer, Tom Hern. The 3โ€™ Green Hunters were the first Rated Division to start off the morning with Fifi Schmidt and Samantha Perraultโ€™s Frohlich winning the first class. When asked about Frohlich, this is what owner Samantha Perrault had to say:ย

Fifi Schmidt & Frohlich

“Frohlich is a 2015 Oldenburg mare by Frohwind. I have had her for 3 years and she is just lovely. My favorite things about her are her ride-ability, amateur friendly attitude and her overall happy and easy going personality.”

In the second over fences class of the 3โ€™ Green Hunters, it was Rebecca St. Onge on Laurie Indressanoโ€™s Lucaya. Lucaya is a 12-Year-Old Gelding by Levisonn.

Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre & Thomas Crown

The 3โ€™ Green Hunter Under Saddle blue ribbon was captured by Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre on Sharon Oโ€™Neilโ€™s Thomas Crown. Thomas Crown is a 6-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Crown Affair.

Next up, the 3โ€™3โ€ Green Hunters took their turn over Tom Hernโ€™s course. It was Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre riding Grafton Street, LLCโ€™s NVF Fort Knoxx (pictured above) and Caitlin Venezia-White riding Meredith Combsโ€™ Grey Lock who earned themselves a First and Second each. We caught up with Grafton Street, LLC to talk about this exciting new horse at Next Venture Farm for Jennifer Ritucci- Volandre:

โ€œNVF Fort Knoxx is a 6-year-old Warmblood Gelding owned by Grafton Street, LLC. His sire is Namelus R and his Dam is Diabell. We bought him two weeks ago as an International Hunter Derby Prospect. He was recently imported from Ireland where he was an event horse. Apparently, they realized he was better suited as a hunter. Today was his first time competing in the 3โ€™3โ€ Green Hunters and he had great success. I have been riding with Jennifer for many years and could not be more excited to watch her produce NVF Fort Knoxx. Keep an eye out for him in the International Derby Ring!โ€.

To finish the division for the day, Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre and NVF Fort Knoxx took the Blue in the 3โ€™3โ€™ Green Hunter Under Saddle.ย

Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre & MTM Fashion

To round out the day, the 3โ€™3โ€ Performance Hunters took over the ring. It was Jennifer Ritucci-Volandre again, taking the two top spots but this time on Katelyn Coveneyโ€™s MTM Fashion. The 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding by Fiderstanz is a ride Jennifer has had in her barn for quite some time. MTM Fashion does double duty consistently producing top results for his owner Katelyn Coveney in the Junior Hunters, most recently being crowned Grand Junior Hunter Champion at the Saratoga Classic Horse Show.

Johanna Hyyppa & Colander

One more trip around the ring for the 3โ€™3โ€ Performance Under Saddle brought Johanna Hyyppa on Skyler Wahlbergโ€™s Colander on top. Colander is a 7-year-ol Holsteiner gelding by Colman.

Check back tomorrow for another daily recap and good luck to everyone!
