Mark Bluman & Noortje van de Windheuvel Win $36,600 SmartPak Welcome at Saugerties

Saugerties, New York, USA – May 30, 2021 – The three-week Hits Saugerties Spring Series began last week, May 26-30, with Hits-on-the-Hudson I. Competition featured USEF-Rated National 5* as well as FEI CSI2* competition with highlights including a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, $50,000 Hits Grand Prix CSI2*, and $25,000 Hits National Grand Prix. Exhibitors and horses were thrilled to be back showing in the Hudson Valley to kick off the spring season. Read on for a summary of this week’s results! 

FEI competition began on Thursday where Mark Bluman (COL) joined the Winner’s Circle aboard Noortje VD Windheuvel. The Colombian and the 8-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Farfelu de Muze x Kannan) were supreme at the end of their two efforts, registering a jump-off time of 35.42 to claim the blue ribbon in the $36,600 SmartPak Welcome CSI 2*.

Jonathan Corrigan (IRL) claimed the next two top spots on the podium backed by four clean performances . The Irisham secured silver honors aboard Super Chilled (Gelvin Clover x Ballypatrick Codex) in 36.45 seconds and rounding out the top three on Fair Play (Gaillard de La Pomme x Cartier van de Heffinck), being timed in 37.24 seconds.
