Leon Thijssen & Faithless MVDL Fly to First in €25,700 Van Mossel Grand Prix CSI 2* at Peelbergen

Kronenberg, The Netherlands – May 23, 2021 – Leon Thijssen (NED) and Faithless MVDL lit up to win the €25,700 Van Mossel Grand Prix CSI 2* during the first week of the Spring Tour at the Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen. A total of 54 combinations entered the arena for the 1.45m challenge but only twelve of them would go on to advance to the tiebreaker.

Among them, Thijssen (NED) and the 11-year-old grey Dutch Warmblood mare (Ukato x Clinton), who left all the poles up for no penalties, yet blazing through the course in 42.64 seconds for the victory.

Janika Sprunger (SUI) and Carlotta 276 (Cornet Obolensky x Arpeggio) were also clear and fast but had to settle for second place after being a little bit slower, timed at 42.89 seconds.

Supporters of the host nation saw two of their riders climb onto the podium as Wout-Jan van der Schans (NED) and AS Bombay (Diamant de Semilly x Contender) registered two penalty-free efforts two, rounding out the top three in 43.83 seconds.
