Grimaud, France – April 30, 2021 – Mathieu Billot (FRA) and Ilena S mastered all the obstacles on the course and the competition to win the €7,000 Hubside Jump-off Challenge CSI 2* on Friday during the first week of the Hubside Spring Tour.

The Frenchman and the 13-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Verdi x Calido I) advanced to and completed the jump-off of the 1.45m contest flawlessly, registering the winning time of 39.71 seconds for the victory. 

Antoine Ermann (FRA) and Beryl des Pres (Popstar Lozonais x Djalisco du Guet) matched the double clear of the of the eventual winners, earning reserve honors due to their final time of 39.98 seconds.

A regular placed rider in classes at the Hubside Jumping, Edward Levy (FRA) showed consistency aboard Confidence d’Ass (Diamant de Semilly x Eurocommerce Berlin), posting two penalty-free performances and rounding out the top three in 40.24 seconds.

“Ilena S is a great mare. I think she has already recorded five victories since the beginning of the year! Two weeks ago, in Canteleu, she only jumped the Grand Prix which she won brilliantly. Today, I was confident, the mare was good, the course was very good, I turned very short after the double, where the other riders did not dare. Ilena was perfect and at times like this she’s almost unbeatable. “
