‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands – April 25, 2021 – Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) is a familiar name at The Dutch Masters. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 he won the Van Schijndel Indoor Derby with Carlotta 232. This year, there was no Indoor Derby on the schedule but on Sunday morning he saw his chance in the Kingsland Horsepoint Prize CSI 5*. As first starter he set a super fast time that the following riders could not improve.
For this class he saddled the eight-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare Nikolaj de Music. The Italian guided the 8-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood mare (Kannan x Nabab de Reve) sped to victory across the finish line in 51.61 seconds after overcoming all the obstacles set at the height of 1.40 meters.
“Nikolaj is still young but has a lot of potential for the future,” said Gaudiano. The Italian does miss the audience, but “I do hear that the event is very well watched online.”
Second place was claimed by compatriot Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) aboard Amarit d’Amour (Ashby x Damiani), registering no penalties in 52.04 seconds.
Belgian Jérôme Guery (BEL) and Tango (Cooper vd Heffinck x Cassini I) secured the third spot on the podium backed by a penalty-free effort in 52.38 seconds.
