Wellington, Florida, USA – April 03, 2021 – Kent Farrington (USA) proved once again that he is the cream of the crop, besting a field of top horses and riders to win the final $15,000 Turf Tour Grand Prix of 2021! A modern master of the jump-off, Farrington and the sporty Kaprice blazed across the green grass of Polo West to beat out rounds by Ashlee Bond (ISR), Darragh Kenny (IRL), Wilhelm Genn (GER), and other international Grand Prix riders to win the day on the Turf Tour. Friday’s Finale also featured a catered, Latin-style lunch provided by The RV Advisor, the top option for owners of RV’s and horse trailers for on the go service. With just one final USEF Equitation Tuesday event to be held April 6 at their home farm, The Ridge at Wellington capped off an amazing season of show jumping with Friday’s Finale and are now set for their spring circuit shows at their New Jersey facility, The Ridge at Riverview, including their first tie hosting the rider favorite Garden State Horse Show!
Kent Farrington (USA) and 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Echo Van’T Spieveld x Electra Van T Roosakker) were regular winners on the 2021 Turf Tour, taking blues in the weekly $5,000 1.30M Rising Star Classics and $15,000 1.40M Grand Prix multiple times. The exceptionally speedy Kaprice made quick work of the first round, and then flew around the jump-off late in the class to finish on 37.298 seconds.
The previous leaders, Darragh Kenny (IRL) and GK Casper (Canto 16 x Quantum) still managed to hold on to second place, despite being almost 2 seconds slower. Kenny and Casper, who have won the most Turf Tour classes of any combination this season, jumped-off in 38.909 seconds. Third place went to the final ride of the day, Ryan Genn (USA) and VDL Genius T on 40.424 seconds.
The RV Advisor of Broward County generously sponsored the Turf Tour’s Finale luncheon on March 26 during the last $15,000 1.40M Grand Prix of the 2021 season. The RV Advisor, founded by GiGi Stetler, provides expert advice to educate and guide consumers before and after they purchase an RV. As an equestrian Stetler also provides roadside service and support for RVs, trucks and trailers, a blessing for anyone who has been broken down with horses in tow. The Ridge’s founder and US Olympian Nona Garson is one of her happy customers: “Traveling back and forth from Florida to New Jersey we have been unfortunate enough to require assistance, and having someone on call provides us with peace of mind and another level of protection for our horses and equipment.” In addition to a provision to arrange transport for horses and livestock affected by a breakdown, The RV Advisor’s roadside assistance also includes fuel delivery, tire changes, battery jump, lock-out assistance, unlimited towing and flatbed towing for any size motorhome and all family members are covered at no added cost.
The Ridge would also like to thank all of its sponsors, exhibitors, staff, and supporters for contributing to another top year in 2021, and for observing all mask mandates and social distancing to make for a safe environment for all!
