Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – March 07, 2021 – The 2021 Vilamoura Atlantic Tour came to an end on Sunday and they saved the best for last during the sixth and final week of the spring circuit there, hosting €100,000 Vilamoura Atlantic Tour Grand Prix CSI 4*. Former winners there, having claimed top honors in the €26,000 Speed Challenge CSI 4* last November, Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) and Cochello powered to first place once again.
The Italian showed his maestry aboard the 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding (Casall x Cartani 4), guiding him across the course and over all the 1.50m obstacles before crossing the finish line in 35.04 seconds during the decisive phase.
One of the most consistent performers of the season there, reigning 2020 German Ladies Champion, Finja Bormann (GER) and Clippo 3 ( Casall x Lorentin I) were up to their old tricks again, coming the closest to the eventual winners. The dynamic duo matched the double clear by the Italian, registering a jump-off time of 36.06 seconds for silver honors.
The third spot on the podium was claimed by a combination representing Les Bleus, with Juliette Fagot (FRA) and Arqana de Riverland (Cornet Obolensky x Diamant de Semilly)
