
Wellington, Florida, USA โ March 4, 2021 โ It was a busy day last Thursday during the eighth week of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). Besides the $37,000 Adequan Challenge Cup VIII CSIO 4*, another important class took place, with the participation of renowned international riders. Held in the DeNemethy Ring, Shane Sweetnam (IRL) and Madiba AG Z claimed the first place ribbon in the $25,000 ProElite Jumper Classic.
The Irishman and the 9-year-old grey Zangersheide mare (Mylord Carthago*HN x Corland), owned by Sweetnam, Spy Coast Farm, and Paul Tracy, advanced to and completed the jump-off without having any penalties attributed to them, securing the win with a clear jump-off round in 36.280 seconds.
The eventual winners were the fastest of six in the jump-off, narrowly edging out Daniel Deusser (GER) and Stephex Stablesโ Bingo Ste. Hermelle (Number One d’Iso x Diamant de Semilly), who had a time of 36.348 seconds.
The third double clear round for third place came from Lauren Hough (USA) and Harley D (Spartacus x Grandilot), owned by Hillside Farm LLC, in 36.824 seconds.
