Hunter Holloway & Pepita Con Spita Top $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix in Ocala

Ocala, Florida, USA – February 12, 2021 –  The fourth week of the Hits Ocala Winter Circuit took place last week at the Hits Post Time Farm in Ocala, Florida, USA. With the halfway mark just around the corner, competition is heating up there, all leading up to the Great American $1 Million Grand Prix.

Ten riders jumped clear in the first round of the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix on Friday. Winners of the $50,000 Hits Grand Prix earlier this season there and no stranger to the Winner’s Circle there this season, Hunter Holloway (USA) claimed another Grand Prix win at the Hits Ocala Winter Circuit. Holloway showed two horses and jumped clean on both in the first round.

Holloway was second to return in the jump-off aboard Eastern Jam (Lexicon x Monaco) and went clean in a time of 44.144 seconds. However, that was good enough for an honorable third-place finish.

Returning near the end of the jump-off on her second mount, Holloway made the most out of her second opportunity, this time aboard Hays Investment Corp.’s, Pepita Con Spita. The American and the 10-year-old grey Westphalian mare (DSP Con Spirit x Come On) posted another clean effort, lowering the mark to 43.565 seconds, which gave them the victory.

Daniel Geitner (USA) and Chakalaka were also double clear, earning silver honors in 43.947 seconds.
