
Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain – January 30, 2021 – Gregory Wathelet (BEL) and Nevados S galloped towards victory in the €26,180 Jump-off Challenge CSI 3* on Saturday during the third week of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour‘s Spring MET I.
The Belgian guided the 13-year-old grey Polish Sport Horse stallion (Calvados Z x Romualdo KWPN), besting 13 other combinations in the decisive phase of the 1.45m after registering their second penalty-free effort, stopping the final timers in 35.87 seconds.
Christian Kukuk (GER) and Constantin 110 (Colestus x Quidam de Revel) were not too far behind, finishing second only due to their fianl time of 36.14 seconds.
The host nation saw one of their own earn a spot on the podium too, as Sergio Alvarez Moya (ESP) and Valdocco des Caps (Number One d’Iso x Quidam de Revel) registered a double clear too, being time just one-tenth of second slower than the latter two in the tiebreaker.
