John Angus & Ecanto J Top $15,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake at Tryon

Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA – August 21, 2020 – Eighteen-year-old John Angus (USA) and Ecanto J rode to victory in the $15,000 Horseware Ireland Welcome Stake last Friday during the third and final week of the Tryon Resort’s August Series in Tryon Stadium.

The young rider showed his ability aboard the 11-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Canturano x Verdi) piloted the Barnhill and Cheska entry, stopping the jump-off timers in 33.274 seconds.

Second place was claimed Willie Tynan (IRL) and Fancy Girl, the 2010 Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Michelle Guardino-Dettelbach, toured the short course in 35.028 seconds, while third place went to

Daniel Bedoya (BOL) aboard Abracadabra WKT, a 2008 Holsteiner mare (Casall x Romino) owned by Monica Hanks, after charging around the jump-off in 35.145 seconds.
