Liége, Belgium – June 02, 2020 – The organizers of the Jumping International de Liège have isssued a statement announcing that the 2020 edition of the event will not take place due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Their announcement states the following:

Dear friends of the Jumping International de Liège, we hope that you are doing well despite the health crisis we are going through.

It is not without disappointment that we wish to inform you of the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the International Jumping of the Province of Liège. This decision may seem early, but an event of such magnitude requires months of preparation to be a sporting and eventful success, and the risks weighing on international fall events remain too great.

Nevertheless, we invite you to follow us carefully over the next few months because, if sanitary conditions allow, 2 regional events, whether festive or sporting, will be organized.

Chers amis du Jumping International de Liège, nous espérons que vous vous portez bien malgré la crise sanitaire que nous traversons actuellement.

C’est non sans déception que nous souhaitons vous informer de l’annulation de l’édition 2020 du Jumping Internationale de la Province de Liège. Cette décision peut sembler précoce mais un événement d’une telle ampleur demande des mois de préparation pour être une réussite sportive et événementielle, et les risques qui pèsent sur les événements internationaux d’automne restent trop importants.

Néanmoins, nous vous invitons à nous suivre attentivement au cours des prochains mois car si les conditions sanitaires le permettent, 2 événements régionaux, qu’ils soient festifs ou sportifs, seront organisés.
