La Baule, France – March 17, 2020 – The organizing committee of the Longines Jumping International of La Baule CSIO 5* released a statement today cancelling the event: They state the following: “Given the evolving nature of the Covid-19 epidemic on national territory and the measures taken by the government, the organizing committee of the Longines Jumping International of La Baule CSIO 5* decided to cancel the 2020 edition of the CSIO 5* in France, the first leg of the European Division 1 of the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ circuit. The CSIO5 * of France was to celebrate its 60th anniversary from May 14 to 17, at the François André stadium.
Rémi Cléro, President of Longines Jumping International de La Baule: “After consultation with the City of La Baule and the French Equestrian Federation, it is with sadness that we decided to cancel the Longines Jumping International de La Baule 2020. But it is our duty and our responsibility to take health and safety decisions that are necessary to deal with the virus, in accordance with the requests of the President of the Republic and the government.
Today, we are thinking particularly of the players in the world of horses and equestrian sports, our partners, our loyal public, and extend our deep support to them during this difficult period for our country. Of course, our commitment to the CSIO 5* of France remains intact and we invite you to meet for the 2021 edition, from May 13 to 16, to celebrate this 60th anniversary of the Baulois competition.”
