
Doha, Qatar – Thursday, February 27 – The seventh edition of Commercial Bank CHI Al Shaqab 5* presented by Longines, the signature event of Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, got off to an exciting start on Thursday at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab.
With 88 riders from 23 countries competing in the Olympic disciplines of showjumping, dressage, and para dressage, fans enjoyed a mix of equestrian action on the first day of the world-class international equestrian competition.

Julien Epaillard (FRA) & Virtuose Champeix
Julien Epaillard (FRA), riding Virtuose Champeix (Rubins des Bruyeres x Avec Espoir), emerged victorious in the €94,900 1.50m Speed Challenge CSI 5* Showjumping class in a time of 64.09 secs.

Scott Brash (GBR) & Hello Shelby
Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Shelby (Stolzenberg x For Pleasure) finished second after registering no penalties in 64.25 seconds.

Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) & Dana Blue
Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), riding Dana Blue (Mr. Blue x Hemmingway), claimed third place in 65.87 seconds.

The Commercial Bank CHI Al Shaqab Presented by Longines continues into the weekend. Tickets for the event, including exclusive VIP packages, are available online at https://www.q-tickets.com/ or through the Al Shaqab website (www.alshaqab.com).
For the convenience of spectators, Al Shaqab is providing a free shuttle bus service from the Al Shaqab metro station (Green Line) to the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab. The service will run at 10-minute intervals over all three days of the event, which ends on 29 February.
