Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – February 12, 2020 – The well known 5* international showjumper, Jane Richard Philips (SUI), was the winner of the first Big Class here at the Tour today, on her long term partner the 9-year-old old Fouego de la Crosiere (Nabab de Reve x Landjuweel ST Hubert).

The winning partnership only started competing in the international 1.45m-1.50m classes in the 2019 season but the duo advanced to and completed the challenge without having any penalties attributed to them, stopping the final timers in 23.61 seconds for the victory.

The next two highest-placed combinations were also double clear, with Pontus Westergren (SWE) riding Addison (Nintender x Ragazzo) to second place in 24.77 seconds while the Italian rider Filippo Codecasa (ITA) and Appolon Bleu (Rock’N Roll Semilly x Baloo du Camp) claimed bronze honors in 25 seconds flat.

The class was held in the impressive grass arena named after “David Broome”. This legendary Welsh showjumper along with Don Antonio Blázquez the owner of the show ground, were the main players that set up the very first Sunshine Tour.
