La Coruña, Spain – December 13, 2019 – Leopold Van Asten and VDL Groep Miss Untouchable made the Dutch proud by winning the €100,000 Massimo Dutti Trophy CSI 5* during the CSI Casas Novas – A Coruña 5*-W/2* yesterday at the Casas Novas Indoor Arena.

A familiar winning face at Casas Novas, The Dutchman, who in 2014 won the Grand Prix in both the summer and winter edition, rode 12-year-old bay Oldenburg mare (Chacco-Blue x Aldatus) in the last competition of the evening. An impeccable and speedy run of 67.44 seconds served Van Asten his victory in the 1.55m speed challenge. What a great end to the year for the Dutchman, who was second in the Grand Prix of the CSI4 * of Maastricht last November. This victory also allows him to qualify for the Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix – CaixaBank Trophy CSI 5* – on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Olivier Robert (FRA) found the center stage out of his reach for the second time in the same afternoon. The Frenchman, however, has made an impressive start, taking place in two podiums in the two top-level events. He had previously jumped the circuit in 67.53 seconds with Vivaldi des Meneaux, good for silver honors.

Alberto Zorzi (ITA) and Cinsey (Contendro I x For Pleasure) climbed to t third place, registering no penalties and a time of 67.73 seconds.

The day ended with the stands full at the indoor arena, with hundreds of people who enjoyed both the competition and the Santi Serra’s show, who put the finishing touch to a fabulous start of the Casas Novas event.
