Paris, France – December 07, 2019 – Olivier Guillon (FRA) and Vitot du Château won the €26,250 Masters Two Institut Esthederm Prize CSI 2* yesterday during the Longines Masters of Paris CSI 5*/2*.

Sixty-six pairs started in the 1.45m challenge , with 17 of them managing to qualify for the jump-off. If the ladies set the tone early on, Olivier Guillon (FRA) and the 10-year-old dark bay (Toulon x Kannan) were eventually the fastest over the final round in front of the Paris audience, registering no penalties in 35.01 seconds during the tiebreaker. This was enough to secure the winner’s Ducati Scrambler motorbike.

“The jump-off was ideally suited to my horse. Because he has a short action, I could gallop even when the distances were a bit short for the other horses. I wanted to clinch this class because the winner’s prize really appealed to me! (laughs) So I gave it my all even though Vitot hadn’t jumped yesterday. Sometimes everything falls into place and it’s nice! Vitot will have a day off tomorrow before starting in the Grand Prix on Sunday”, explained a grinning champion after the competition.

Thanks to a quick time of 37.11 seconds, Marie Pellegrin (FRA) took the lead early on in the jump-off with Alcazar du Moulin (Mylord Carthago*HN x Allegreto), eventually finishing in third place.

Despite their efforts, all had failed to catch her when Britain’s Matthew Sampson (GBR) managed a very quick 36.38 seconds with Geneve R (Eldorado v. Zeshoek x Berlin), securing silver honors.
