Rabat, Morocco – October 12, 2019 – Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) and Beau Limit triumphed in the €10,000 ANCFCC Prize CSIO 4* last Saturday during the Royal Morocco Tour CSI 4*-W in Rabat, Morocco.
Thirty-nine out of the supposed forty-two combinations challenged the 1.40m track designed by Irishman Alan Wade (IRL) with José Thiry (BEL) and Fire (Numero Uno x Cash) being the trailblazers.
The Belgian got things started with a beautiful clear round in 58.61 seconds, only to see Billy Twomey (IRL) and Kimba Flamenco (Je T’Aime Flamenco x Heartbreaker) overtake them after by a penalty-free performance in 55.57 seconds.
Samantha McIntosh (NZL) and James S (Verdi x Concorde) lowered the mark even more, crossing the finish line flawlessly in 54.68 seconds for what seemed to be a top-three finish, however, that would not happen.
Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) & Beau Limit
After being nipped the day before, Abdullah Al Sharbatly (KSA) was a man on a mission, pushing Beau Limit to the limit. The risk paid off as the Saudi and the 13-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (No Limit x Hors La Loi II) took the lead for good, lowering the mark of the New Zealander by almost one second a half better, timed in 53.20 seconds.
Thierry Goffinet (BEL) and Cadet du Ruisseau Z (Chellano Z x Carthago Z) pushed Samantha to a temporary second place, eventually, the Belgian settled for third with a clean effort in 54.62 seconds since he suffered the same fate, being surpassed by the final combination.
El Ghali Boukaa (MAR) & Cool Running
Cool Running (Clooney x Carpaccio) honored his name, taking off fast to earn second place under the saddle of El Ghali Boukaa (MAR), registering no penalties in 53.87 seconds.
