New York, New York, USA – September 28, 2019 – Ben Maher (GBR) and Explosion W won the €150,000 First GCL Individual Speed Class CSI 5* last Friday during the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) at Governors Island in New York, New York, USA.

With a lot at stake, the Brit and the 10-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood gelding (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) not only contributed to the London Knights’ pole position before going on the win the decisive last leg of the championship series,  also clinching the season title.

Moreover, showjumping most successful combination also managed to win Friday’s speed class, registering no penalties in 64.49 seconds for the victory.

Second place was claimed by Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Ladriano Z (Lawito x Baloubet du Rouet) due to their penalty-free effort in 65.19 seconds.

François Mathy Jr. (BEL) & Uno de La Roque

François Mathy Jr. (BEL) and Uno de La Roque (Numero Uno x Kannan) completed the podium after a clean scorecard, crossing the finish line in 68.83 seconds.
