Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and H&M Ikker won the €25,400 Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort Prize CSI 2* yesterday during the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour’s 2019 Spring MET II in Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain.
The Belgian and the 11-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding (Ogano Sitte x Up To Date) were supreme in the 1.45m challenge, besting thirteen other combinations in the jump-off by posting a clean performance in 37.90 seconds.
It was a one-two for the Belgium as Constant van Paesschen (BEL) and Carlow van de Helle (Caretino 2 x Corofino 2) secured the second position backed by two penalty-free performances, the second one in 38.60 seconds during the tiebreaker.
The young partnership between David Will (GER) and Spring Dark (Jazz Band Courcelle x Palestro II) earned their third top 3 finish in less than two weeks, completing the podium with no penalties, being just sixteen-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
