The Championat of the City of Basel for the “Golden Drum of Basel” ended with an Irish double victory yesterday during the Longines CSI Basel 5*-W in Switzerland. Billy Twomey and Denis Lynch gave the equestrian lads all over the world something to cheer about.

Twomey and Lady Lou, a the 10-year-old bay Westphalian mare (Lord Z x Caesario), produced the fastest clean jump-off round aboard , securing the victory in CHF $75,000 1.50m contest in 44.08 seconds.

Second place was claimed by his compatriot Denis Lynch on Dito (Diarado x Canturo) in 45.43 seconds.

Third place went to Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) on Uqualin du Saulcy (Quincy / Quaprice x Voltaire), registering no penalties in 46.21 seconds during the tiebreaker.
