The Belgian rider made the following statement on his Facebook page:
“Today a very beautiful era has come to an end. The horse that started my top career will make a new rider happy from today on. Thanks to Cas de Liberté, I did not only learn a lot, but I also experienced many wonderful moments.
“She came to us as an 8-year-old and already won the Grand Prix of Kapellen CSI 3* six months later, followed by the Grand Prix of Liège CSI 4*. As a 9-year-old she made her debut in the World Cup of Mechelen, where she immediately finished second. And that’s not all..”
“She won the GP of Brussels CSI 5*, the of Linz CSI 4* GP, became Horse of the Year in 2016, jumped numerous clear rounds for the Belgian team and helped our country to victory in the Nations Cup of Rotterdam this year. In addition, thanks to Cas, I was able to go to the European Championships in Gothenburg and the WEG in Tryon. Two events that have made me better and wiser as an athlete.”
“Via this way I would like to thank not only the owners for their trust in us, but also our entire team that made all of this possible. I wish a lot of fun, luck and happiness to the new owners. Thanks Cas!”
