Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Carlson won the €25,000 Musto Inside Edge Stakes CSI 5* last Wednesday during Olympia – The London International Horse Show CSI 5*-W in England. It was a splendid start for Darragh Kenny’s at Olympia with a double of victories.

The Netherlands-based Irishman took the Santa Stakes on Carlson and set an unmatchable target of 48.56 seconds on the 10-year-old bay Hannoverian gelding (Contendro I x Stolzenberg) in The Musto Inside Edge Stakes, a 1.50m speed class.
For good measure, he was also second in the opening Welcome Stakes on Billy Dorito behind Dutch rider Doron Kulpers on Freestyle. “It’s been a great day – it’ll probably all go downhill from here on,” he joked.
Kenny plans to ride Cassini in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ on Saturday, but might consider Carlson, a new ride, in the Turkish Airlines Olympia Grand Prix on Sunday: “He’s a special horse, competitive and brave. I think he’ll be good.”
Second place was claimed by William Funnel (GBR) and Billy McCain (Cevin Z x Cruising), backed by a penalty-free effort in 50.66 seconds.
François Mathy Jr. (BEL) and Casanova de L’Herse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir van Schuttershof) rounded out the top three, registering no penalties in 50.95 seconds.
