
First place for Holland on the podium of Casas Novas with the triumph of Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), who lifted the €25,000 Prosegur Trophy CSI 5* yesterday morning during the CSI Casas Novas – A Coruña in La Coruña, Spain.
The Dutchman and the grey 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare (Mr. Blue x Hemmingway) 25.24 seconds claimed top honors by advancing to and completing the second phase of the 1.45m challenge with no penalties, stopping the final timers in 25.24 seconds.
Speedster Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) on Quinn van de Heffinck (Quincy / Quaprice) were the closest ones, finishing second in 25.58 seconds.
It was a tightly contested competition by brave combinations, among them, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (ESP), who neverthless had to settle for a third place aboard Uqualin du Saulcy (For Pleasure x Concetto) with a final time of 25.66 seconds.
The top five were all below 26 seconds, with Ludger Beerbaum (GER) and Chiara (Contender x Coronado 3) securing fourth place in 25.81 seconds while Michael G. Duffy (IRL) and Ugo la Tour Vidal (Ogano Sitte x Calvaro) were fifth in 25.98 seconds.
