Stuttgart, Germany – November 15, 2018 – The 49-year old 2014 team world champion and 2015 team European champion, Jur Vrieling (NED) won the 34th International Stuttgart German Masters Horse Show’s opening international jumping class for the Bardusch GmbH & Co. KG Textil-Mietdienste Prize CSI 5*.

Riding the stallion Baltic VDL (Quaprice Bois Margot x Jus de Pomme) in front of 2,500 spectators in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle, the Dutchman produced a faultless ride in 57.83 seconds.
Charlotte Bettendorf (LUX) finished in second place by almost a second, registering a time of 58.75 seconds. The Luxembourgeoise rider was in the saddle on her 10-year old mare Ikea ( Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Burggraaf) and has been riding for the Belgian Francois Mathy Jr.’s stables for several months now.
Third was Germany’s Felix Haßmann and the nine-year old gelding SIG Chaccinus (Chacco-Blue x Acord II), crossing the finish line with a time of 59.68 seconds. A qualified horse farm manager who works at his parent’s stables, he last year won the opening jumping in Stuttgart after coming second in 2016. The team Olympic champion Penelope Leprevost (FRA) came fourth six hundredths of a second behind Haßmann on the only eight-year old Holsteiner gelding Quintair (Quintero x Con Air 7), totalling no penalties in 59.74 seconds.
