
The French anthemn was heard during the Vilamoura Champions Tour yesterday as Eugenie Angot (FRA) and Turquoise d’Ivraie claimed top honors in the €27,550 Grand Prix CSI 2* at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Quarteira, Faro, Portugal.

The French rider and the 11-year-old grey Selle Français mare (Quick Star x Cook du Midour) left other 16 combinations behind in the jump-off by clearing all the fences and crossing the finish line with no penalties in 32.13 seconds.
Marc Bettinger (GER) and Balouzino (Baloubet du Rouet x Zeus Ang. n) earned silver honors backed by two penalty-free performances, the decisive one in 32.40 seconds.
The home nation saw one of their own on the podium when Luis Sabino Gonçalves (POR) and Dominka van de Lucashoeve (Cardento 933 x Chin Chin) completed their second flawless effort in 32.89 seconds.
