The major class of this Friday at the Jumping International de Valence, the €65,650 Prix MMA CSI 5*, a 1.55m jump-off class, provided spectators once again with a match between France and Belgium, as we had seen last week, in the Prix Axeria of the CSI 4* on Saturday.
It was the same two riders, François Mathy Jr (BEL) and Simon Delestre (FRA), who fought against one another for the first place in this qualificative class for the Grand Prix. It was the Belgian rider who once again took the prize away from the hands of the French rider.

François Mathy (BEL) & Casanova de L’Herse
Riding Casanova de L’Herse, a 10-year-old bay Belgian Sport Horse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir van Schuttershof), the Belgium completed the jump-off flawless in just 36.10 seconds for the victory.
Simon Delestre (FRA) and Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto) matched the winners’ two penalty-free performances, finishing second only due to their final time of 36.45 seconds.
Pénélope Leprévost (FRA) and Gain Line (Stolzenberg x Raphael) earned bronze honors by being seven-tenths of a second slower than the latter two.
