
Richard Spooner (USA) & Quirado RC won the CNOOC Nexen Cup CSI 5* last Sunday during ‘The National’ at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
The American and the 9-year-old grey Holsteiner gelding (Quinar x Corrado I) were victorious in the 1.50m jump-off challenge by posting their second penalty-free performance, stopping the timers in 43.140 seconds.
Second place was claimed by Nicolas Pizarro (MEX) & Carquilot (Carinue x Quilot) after registering no penalties and a time of 43.830 seconds during the tiebreaker.
Patricio Pasquel (MEX) & Pomerol (Vivaldi x Serenade) had another strong showing, rounding out the top three with a flawless run in 44.060 seconds during the decisive phase.
