The Italian national anthem was played last night for the presentations of the last class on Thursday evening at Horses & Dreams meets the Royal Kingdom of Jordan. Successful Italian showjumper Luca Maria Moneta (ITA) and his horse Neptune Brecourt were literally flying in the Prize of the Royal Jordanian Airlines. Frenchman Julien Epaillard (FRA) and Quatrin de La Roque LM, normally known for their speedy rounds, had to be content with second place. Third went to David Will (GER) and Chelsea.

Moneta credits his success to his special training philosophy. His young horses for example just completed the Sunshine Tour in Southern Europe and are now enjoying a well deserved break. “We take their shoes off and they spend summer in the fields. Then we’ll bring them back in for the autumn season and let them develop slowly into the sport.” Neptune Brecourt was only seven when he joined Moneta’s stable but the pair have enjoyed great success for the past ten years. Together they competed in European and World Championships as well as Nations Cup events. 2018 is the second time that the amicable Italian has visited Hagen a.T.W. and it sure won’t be the last. “I love this event, the conditions are excellent, the energy coming from the spectators is incredible and everything is so well organised. The hospitality of family Kasselmann is second to none.” Enis Zitouni, Sales Manager Germany at Royal Jordanian, also expressed his excitement, “I am positively surprised by the authenticity of the Jordanian exhibition and the variety on display. I like the concept of having a partner country for these kinds of events, it is a great idea and really supports the cultural exchange between countries.”

Thursday morning began with a German win, Katrin Eckermann (GER) rode F.C. Okarla to a clear round and the fastest time in the in the Prize of Hof Kasselmann GmbH & Co. KG. Second place again went to Julien Epaillard (FRA), this time in the saddle of Usual Suspect d’Auge. Young local rider Max Haunhorst (Hagen a.T.W.) and Chaccara were in third place.

Following this class was the first event for the seven- and eight-year-old future showjumping stars. The class saw many international top riders and the win went to the French championship rider Penelope Leprevost (FRA) riding Quintair, placing in front of Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) mit Evita Van’T Zoggehof und Toni Haßmann.
