
Shane Sweetnam (IRL) & Cyklon 1083 won the €50,400 Broxel Trophy CSI 5* yesterday during the second day of competition at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Mexico City CSI 5* in Mexico.
The Irishman and the 17-year-old bay Swedish Warmblood stallion (Cardento 93 x Cortus) were victorious in the 1.45m two-phase contest by advancing to and completing both phases with no penalties, the second one in 19.33 seconds.
Simon Delestre (FRA) & Gain Line (Stolzenberg x Raphael) matched the winners’ clear performance, crossing the finish line in 19.62 seconds for silver honors.
Julien Epaillard (FRA) & Instit de Jucaso (Cooper van de Heffinck x Darco) rounded out the top three just eight-hudredths of a second behind the latter two.
