Titouan Schumacher (FRA) & Atome Z won the €29,150 Grand Prix CSI 3* yesterday during the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Quarteira, Faro, Portugal.
The Frenchman and the 11-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (Amadeus Z* Brimbelles x Toulon) were victorious in the 1.45m challenge by registering their second fault-free performance of the day, going through the timers in 36.27 seconds. The victory meant more to its winner because the class also counted as a qualifier for both the 2018 World Equestrian Games and 2019 European Jumping Championships.
Les Bleus continued showing their strength as Julien Gonin (FRA) & Une Etoile Landaise (Balougran x Socrate de Chivre) secured the second spot on the podium with no penalties and a time of 37.73 seconds during the tiebreaker.
Bronyslav Chudyba (SVK) & Zapria (Colman x Landlord) completed the podium, backed by two clear runs, the decisive one in 37.86 seconds.
