Laura Renwick (GBR) has been on fire at the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour this week. After having “swept” the young horses (CSIYH) classes last Wednesday, the Brit scored another important victory at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Quarteira, Faro, Portugal.
This time, she teamed up with Bintang, a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Kitile Horta x Orlando) to take top honors in Friday’s €33,450 two-phase CSI 2* class valid for the Longines Ranking. The duo were clear all the way, stopping the timers in 35.34 seconds at the end of the final phase.
Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) & Cochello (Casall x Cartani) left all the rails up on both parts of the 1.45m challenge, earning second place with a time of 36.77 seconds.
It was as close as it gets between second and third-place finishers with Graham Babes (GBR) & Boucheron (Valentino x Burggraaf) being nipped at the finish line by only one-hundredth of a second.
