Sad news out of Saudi Arabia as Abdullah Al Sharbatly announced the passing away of his top horse Crazy Quick. Unfortunately the 13-year-old chestnut Oldenburg gelding suffered a severe colic and could not overcome it. Having been ridden to the top of the sport by Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski (POL), with several wins together, Crazy Quick had been partnered with Sharbatly for just less than five months. The new partnership seemed very promising, especially winning the Grand Prix CSI 2* at Al Ain and three and later on, three CSI 4* wins at Abu Dhabi, later on going to win €92,100 the Azizi Golden Cup during the Dubai Show Jumping Championship in January.
The Saudi rider made the following statement on his Facebook account:
“We will always remember you as a Champion”
“We are really sad and heart broken to announce Crazy Quick’s sudden death.”
“Our beloved Crazy Quick had blessed and a good day , he had sudden colic after and was immediately hospitalized but the vets couldn’t save him after trying everything they could.”
