Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) scored a double victory with one shot yesterday before the cheers of his fellow countrymen. The Swede not only defended his title from last year by winning the SEK $1,750,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping during the Gothenburg Horse Show CSI 5*-W at home, but also cemented his overall lead in the final standings of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping – Western European League after the final leg of the circuit.
Eckermann leads a group of eighteen riders from Europe that have qualified for Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final next April 11-15 in Paris, France. Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) and Carlos Lopez (COL) have earned the right to represent their countries while participating in the league, although they are each originally registered in another one.
