Robert Whitaker (GBR) & Cash Sent claimed first place in the SEK $850,000 Gothenburg Trophy CSI 5*, presented by Volvo yesterday during the Gothenburg Horse Show CSI 5*-W in Sweden.
The Brit and the 11-year-old bay gelding (Verdi x Niveau) earned the coveted trophy by overcoming all the 1.55m obstacles they faced throughout their two performances, crossing the finish line with no penalties in 37.15 seconds during the decisive phase for the triumph.
Stephanie Holmén (SWE) & Carma (Cardento x Ralmé Z) were not too far behind, finishing second as the only other combination with two fault-free runs and a jump-off time of 37.71 seconds.
Marcus Ehning (GER) & Cornado NRW (Cornet Obolensky x Acobat) were the fastest of the four-faulters in the decisive phase, securing third place in 35.49 seconds.
