There’s a new dawn in the Global Champions League, a dawn marked by two “Dons”, of showjumping and the 2017 Global Champions League title for the Hamburg Diamonds!
Before the decisive run by the dynamic duo, Eric Lamaze (CAN) & Fine Lady 5 (Forsyth FRH x Drosselklang) responded to the challenge and pressure, recovering from 9 penaties on the first day to produce a penalty-free performance.
Later, once again the pressure was on Harrie Smolders (NED) & Don VHP to leave all the poles up. The Dutchman responded, guiding the 13-year-old chestnut Zangersheide stallion (Diamant de Semilly x Voltaire) brilliant around the course towards glory at the finish line.
Congratulations also to Jos Verlooy(BEL), John Whitaker (GBR), Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) and the entire team for the hard work put in and for being part of a glorious year!
