Benôit Cernin – The French rider from the Rhône-Alpes region – won the first class of the Grand National FFE Del Monte Fresh stage in Lyon. Riding Unamour de Suyer, he completed the fastest clear round, jumping 1.45m obstacles. However, he left it to the very end of the class to edge in front of Mathieu Billot and Chacon Ls, who had been leading the rankings for a long time. Benoît Cernin also took third place on the podium with his other horse Uitlanders du Ter.

“Unamour is quite an anxious horse by nature, but he is starting to trust me now. He is a really great horse; he is naturally fast and respects his rider. I have only been riding him since the start of the indoor season, but he already performed brilliantly in Mâcon a few days ago. He is a really good up-and-coming horse,” said the delighted winner as he left the arena.
