Doha, Qatar – March 29, 2026 – The Longines Arena at Al Shaqab hosted the closing day of the 2026 Al Shaqab Cup CSI 5* & CSI 3*, part of the Doha Equestrian Tour, as the event concluded after four days of competition featuring 164 riders, 349 horses and 22 nations. France finished on top on the closing day of the event as Cyrine Cherif (FRA) and Triple T Calamando Blue won the €325,000 Grand Prix of Doha CSI 5*.

The 1.60m two-round with jump-off test was contested by 17 combinations but only Cyrine Cherif (FRA) & Triple T Calamando Blue and Faleh Suwead Al Ajami (QAT) & Wathnan Quatro managed to complete both the first and second rounds with no penalties, thus advancing to the tiebreaker.

In the end, it was Cherif (FRA) who galloped triumphantly across the finish line in 42.51 seconds aboard the 2016 bay Oldenburg gelding (Calmando x Chacco-Blue).

Faleh Suwead Al Ajami (QAT) and Wathnan Quatro almost gave Qatari fans what they had been cheering for. In fact, the duo were faster than the eventual winners, being timed in 40.99 seconds. However, dreams were shattered as one fence down along the way earned them reserve honors.

Despite not qualifying for the decider due to one time penalty in the first round, Kristen Vanderveen (USA) and Bull Run’s Jireh managed to secure bronze honors.
The event was held without public attendance, with live coverage available across broadcast platforms and Doha Equestrian Tour social media channels.
