Wellington, United States – March 19, 2026 – Erynn Ballard (CAN) and Coconet, owned by Mary Frances Looke, sped to victory in the $32,000 Defiant Whisky CSI 4* on Thursday during the elevent week of the 2026 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) at Wellington International.

Going up against 29 other combinations in the 1.50m speed contest, the Canadian and the 14-year-old grey Oldenburg mare (Colman x Cornet’s Stern) were supreme, backed by a penalty-free performance in 65.38 seconds.

Despite not getting the win, the host nation claimed the next two top spots on the podium. Kaitlin Campbell (USA) and Cosm Hesed conquered reserve honors in 67.50 seconds while Zayna Rizvi (USA) and Oryzon van het Schaeck completed the top three in 67.94 seconds.
